Lenscleaning Jvas B0218+357 to Determine H
نویسنده
چکیده
We use the radio ring in JVAS B0218+357 to constrain the mass models with LensCLEAN. H0 is determined from the resulting model and the time delay. B0218+357 is one of the best systems to reduce systematic errors in H0 and may thus be called a “golden lens”.

NICMOS images of JVAS/CLASS gravitational lens systems
We present Hubble Space Telescope (HST) infrared images of four gravitational lens systems from the JVAS/CLASS gravitational lens survey and compare the new infrared HST pictures with previously published WFPC2 HST optical images and radio maps. Apart from the wealth of information that we get from the flux ratios and accurate positions and separations of the components of the lens systems that...
متن کاملGlobal 8.4-GHz VLBI observations of JVAS B0218+357
In this paper we present new observations of the gravitational lens system JVAS B0218+357 made with a global VLBI network at a frequency of 8.4 GHz. Our maps have an rms noise of 30 μJy beam and with these we have been able to image much of the extended structure of the radio jet in both the A and B images at high resolution (∼1 mas). The main use of these maps will be to enable us to further c...
متن کاملRadio follow - up of the γ - ray flaring gravitational lens JVAS B 0218 + 357
We present results on multifrequency Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) monitoring observations of the double-image gravitationally lensed blazar JVAS B0218+357. Multi-epoch observations started less than one month after the γ-ray flare detected in 2012 by the Large Area Telescope on board Fermi, and spanned a 2-month interval. The radio light curves did not reveal any significant flux density var...
متن کاملThe Hubble Constant from gravitational lens CLASS B0218+357 using the Advanced Camera for Surveys
We present deep optical observations of the gravitational lens system CLASS B0218+357 from which we derive an estimate for the Hubble Constant (H0) Extensive radio observations using the VLA, MERLIN, the VLBA and VLBI have reduced the degeneracies between H0 and the mass model parameters in this lens to one involving only the position of the radioquiet lensing galaxy with respect to the lensed ...
متن کاملSe p 20 02 The Redshift of the Lensed Object in the Einstein Ring B 0218 + 357
We present a secure redshift of z = 0.944±0.002 for the lensed object in the Einstein ring gravitational lens B0218+357 based on five broad emission lines, in good agreement with our preliminary value announced several years ago based solely on the detection of a single emission line. Subject headings: gravitational lensing — galaxies: redshifts – galaxies: individual (B0218 + 357)
